Temporary Passport/CI
1. Certificate of Identity (C.I.) is a travel document issued to Thai nationals who have emergency travel, but do not have passport and cannot wait to receive a regular full validity passport before travelling or whose passports are lost, damaged, or expired. He/ She must be able to submit sufficient proof of Thai nationality to be eligible to apply for C.I. |
2. In some case, Thai immigration officer will conduct a nationality interview with the holder of C.I. at the port of entry into Thailand. |
3. C.I. is valid for 30 days from date of issue and for single journey to Thailand only. After returning to Thailand, C.I. is expired and cannot be renewed. |
4. C.I. takes approximately 2 – 5 business days to process from the date on which the Royal Thai Consulate-General receives the request with all required and completed document (excluding mailing time to return the document). C.I. can be requested through the following methods:
