Documents Required of Non Immigrant category “B” (Working):

Non-Immigrant B, IB or SMART Visa and Entry procedures

For applicants who do not yet have a Work Permit

It is requested that only those in urgent need to enter Thailand submit an application for entry.
Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account urgency and economic importance. 

1– Applicant’s company in Thailand submits a request to related Thai government agencies. 
     (Ministry of Labor/ Board of Investment/ Other related government agencies or state-owned enterprise)

2– If the request is approved, the related Thai government agency will issue a letter of permission to work in Thailand.

3– At least 15 working days before intended date of travel, applicant may submit information here and mail
     the following documents to the Royal Thai Embassy (ATTN: Visa Section) or Royal Thai Consulate-General in
     Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York:

    3.1 Passport
    3.2 Two passport-size photographs (2″x2″);
    3.3 Visa application form (Download);
    3.4 Copy of the Letter of permission to work in Thailand issued by relevant Thai government agency;
    3.5 Declaration Form (Download);
    3.6 Medical insurance or letter from employer guaranteeing that the insurance company or employer will
          cover a minimum of 100,000 US dollars (or equivalent in other currencies) of medical costs incurred
          by the applicant in Thailand, including medical costs in the event that applicant contracts COVID-19.
    3.7 Visa fee and self-addressed return envelope (if the applicant doesn’t have a valid visa).
    3.8 Provide reason for urgent need to travel to Thailand.
    3.9 A copy of flight confirmation/reservation , showing going from US to Thailand and leaving from Thailand.
          (The name of the applicant must indicated clearly)
    3.10 A copy of recent bank statement ($700 per person and $1,500 per family)
            (The name of the applicant must indicated clearly),
            In case of submitting family bank statement a proof of relationship
            (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.
     3.11 For non-US citizen, a copy of permanent resident alien card or
             a copy of valid US visa with a letter proof of employment ( **we don’t accept pay stubs**)

4– Royal Thai Embassy submits documents in 3. to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for approval.

5– If approved, the Royal Thai Embassy will grant a visa for the applicant and issue a Certificate of Entry (COE) letter for the applicant.

6- Upon pick up of visa or before the Embassy / Consulate mail out, the applicant must inform the Embassy / Consulate of travel plan (confirmed Air  ticket with proof of payment), health certificate (Fit to Fly 72 hour before departure date), confirmation of ASQ.

*** The applicant must arrange their own 14-day Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) at their own expenses.

7– At the departure airport, the approved applicant is required to present
    (1) A “Certificate of Entry” issued by The Royal Thai Embassy or the Royal Thai Consulates-General;
    (2) A Declaration form
    (3) A “Health Certificate” , Fit to Fly, issued no more than 72 hours before departure; and
    (4) Medical insurance or letter from employer guaranteeing that the insurance company or employer will cover
          a minimum of 100,000 US dollars (or equivalent in other currencies) of medical costs incurred by the applicant
          in Thailand, including medical costs in the event that applicant contracts COVID-19.

8- Upon entry to Thailand, 

Travelers arriving in Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic must submit a T.8 form upon entry into the Kingdom.

Validity of a visa: The Validity of a visa is 3 months.

***A visa becomes effective from the date of issuance. Do not apply for the visa too early. If you apply too early the visa may expire before your trip and you will have to re-apply. The fee is not refundable***

Extension of stay: 
Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Soi Suan Plu, off South Sathorn Road, Bangkok 10120, Tel (662) 287-3101 to 10 or at http://www.immigration.go.th The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
